By submitting a drone or accessory for repair, you accept the terms of this policy in full.
Please read Section 8 (Liability) and Section 9 (Uncollected Property) carefully before drop-off.

Scope of Services
Omnisky provides the following services:
- Drone repair — mechanical, electrical, software, and firmware faults including motors, ESCs, flight controllers, cameras, gimbals, propellers, and sensors.
- Preventive maintenance — battery health checks, firmware updates, calibration, cleaning, and pre-flight inspection.
- Accessory repair and replacement — remote controllers, chargers, and landing gear.
- Diagnostic services — full assessment of a Device's condition to identify faults and determine repairability.
- Agricultural and commercial drone servicing — including DJI Agras series and equivalent commercial platforms.
Omnisky reserves the right to decline any repair where the Device poses a safety risk, where required parts are unavailable, or where the repair is outside Omnisky's technical capability.
Device Submission and Intake
3.1 How to submit a Device
- Walk-in drop-off at 280 Oak Ave, Ferndale, Randburg, during business hours.
- Courier to the same address — the Customer is responsible for packaging and transit to Omnisky. See Section 10 for courier repair requirements.
3.2 What happens at intake
At drop-off, Omnisky will:
- Issue a Repair Ticket number — this is your proof of submission. Keep it.
- Record the Device's make, model, and serial number.
- Photograph the Device to record its physical condition before any work begins.
- Record any pre-existing damage, accessories included, and battery condition.
- Ask the Customer to sign an intake acknowledgement confirming the condition record.
Omnisky technicians may need to access flight logs, firmware, or software settings during diagnosis and repair.
Omnisky is not responsible for any data stored on or accessible via your Device — including flight logs, SD card footage, photos, or video.
Back up and remove all personal data from your Device — including SD cards and internal storage — before submitting for repair.
Omnisky will not be liable for data loss, data exposure, or corruption of any data on or associated with the Device.
Diagnosis, Quotation and Approval
4.1 Diagnostic Fee
Omnisky charges a diagnostic fee for all Devices submitted for assessment, covering the time required to inspect the Device and determine the nature and scope of the fault.
If you approve the repair: the diagnostic fee is absorbed into the total repair cost — it is not charged separately.
If you decline the repair: the diagnostic fee is payable before the Device is returned. Return courier costs also apply where relevant.
4.2 The Quote
After diagnosis, Omnisky will provide a written Quote setting out:
- The fault identified.
- The proposed scope of repair.
- The estimated cost of labour and parts (inclusive of VAT at 15%).
- An estimated completion timeframe.
Quotes are valid for 14 days from the date of issue. If you do not respond within 14 days, Omnisky reserves the right to treat the quote as lapsed and charge a storage fee (see Section 9).
4.3 Approval and commencement of repair
No repair work will commence without the Customer's written approval of the Quote. Approval may be given via RepairDesk, email, or WhatsApp — verbal approvals are not accepted.
4.4 Variations to approved work
If during the repair Omnisky discovers additional faults not covered by the original diagnosis, Omnisky will contact the Customer with a revised or supplementary Quote before proceeding. No additional work will be performed without written approval.
Repair Warranty
5.1 Warranty period and coverage
All repairs performed by Omnisky carry a 90-day warranty on both labour and parts, measured from the date the Device is collected by or delivered to the Customer.
The warranty covers:
- Recurrence of the same fault that was the subject of the repair.
- Failure of any part installed by Omnisky during the repair.
If a valid warranty claim is made, Omnisky will re-assess and repair the Device at no additional charge.
5.2 Warranty exclusions
The 90-day warranty does not apply where the fault or recurrence is caused by:
- Physical damage, impact, or crash after the original repair.
- Water, moisture, or liquid ingress after the original repair.
- Unauthorised repairs, modifications, or tampering by the Customer or a third party after collection.
- Misuse, incorrect operation, or failure to follow manufacturer guidelines.
- Normal wear and tear.
- A fault unrelated to the original repair.
- The Customer proceeding with a repair that Omnisky advised against.
5.3 Making a warranty claim
Contact Omnisky within the 90-day warranty period with your original Repair Ticket number. Omnisky will assess whether the claim falls within warranty coverage.
Beyond Economical Repair (BER)
If Omnisky determines that a Device is BER, we will notify the Customer in writing and explain the basis for the determination.
The Customer may:
- Accept the BER determination and arrange collection (diagnostic fee payable).
- Request that Omnisky proceed with the repair despite the BER determination — in which case the Customer acknowledges the repair may not achieve a satisfactory result and the 90-day warranty will not apply.
Omnisky will not dispose of a Device determined to be BER without the Customer's express written instruction.
Repair Costs and Payment
7.1All prices quoted are inclusive of VAT at 15%.
7.2Full payment of the repair invoice is required before the Device will be released. Omnisky holds a right of retention over the Device until the invoice is settled (see Section 9.1).
7.3Accepted payment methods: EFT, credit/debit card (in person), and cash (in person). Proof of EFT must be provided before collection.
Liability
This section sets out the limits of Omnisky's liability. It does not affect rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 that cannot be excluded by contract.
8.1 Liability cap
Omnisky's total liability arising out of or in connection with a repair is limited to the lesser of:
- The total amount paid by the Customer for the specific repair giving rise to the claim; or
- The insured replacement value of the Device as declared at intake, or — if no value was declared — the current market value of an equivalent Device in its pre-repair condition as determined by Omnisky acting reasonably.
Omnisky is not liable for consequential, indirect, or special loss — including loss of revenue from commercial drone operations, loss of data, loss of footage, missed deadlines, or reputational damage.
8.2 Damage caused during repair
If Omnisky causes damage to a Device during repair that is attributable to Omnisky's negligence, Omnisky will repair the additional damage at no cost, up to the liability cap in clause 8.1.
8.3 Pre-existing damage
The condition record created at intake is the authoritative record of the Device's condition at drop-off. Omnisky is not responsible for any damage or fault recorded at intake.
8.4 High-value Devices
For Devices with a replacement value exceeding R20,000, declare the value at intake and ensure the Device is covered by your own insurance during the repair period.
Omnisky does not insure customer property.
Right of Retention and Uncollected Property
9.1 Right of retention (lien)
Omnisky holds a right of retention (lien) over any Device in its possession until all amounts owing — including repair costs, diagnostic fees, and storage fees — have been paid in full.
9.2 Collection after repair
Omnisky will notify the Customer when a repair is complete. The Customer must collect the Device within 14 calendar days of notification.
9.3 Storage fees
If the Device is not collected within 14 calendar days of notification, Omnisky reserves the right to charge a storage fee of R50 (including VAT) per calendar day beyond the grace period.
9.4 Abandoned property
If a Device remains uncollected for 90 calendar days after first notification (collection-ready or quote issued), Omnisky may treat the Device as abandoned after making reasonable efforts to contact the Customer by phone, email, and WhatsApp. Omnisky may then sell, donate, or dispose of the Device responsibly.
Shipping of Devices
10.1 Shipping to Omnisky
- The Customer is responsible for secure packaging, courier costs, and transit insurance for the inbound journey.
- Omnisky is not responsible for loss or damage during inbound transit.
- Omnisky will not accept liability for Devices that arrive damaged due to inadequate packaging.
10.2 Return shipping after repair
- Courier costs will be added to the invoice.
- Risk passes to the Customer when Omnisky hands the Device to the courier.
- The Customer is responsible for arranging transit insurance for the return journey.
- Omnisky's liability cap under Section 8.1 applies from the moment the Device is handed to the courier.
Consumer Protection Act Rights
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes rights that Customers have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) or any other applicable South African legislation that cannot be excluded by contract.
Where there is a conflict between this policy and a non-waivable provision of the CPA, the CPA provision prevails.
Disputes may be referred to the National Consumer Commission (NCC) at www.thencc.gov.za, or the Consumer Goods and Services Ombudsman (CGSO) at www.cgso.org.za.
Governing Law and Disputes
This policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Any dispute that cannot be resolved directly with Omnisky will be referred to mediation. If mediation fails, the dispute will be determined by the Magistrate's Court or High Court of South Africa (Gauteng Division), as appropriate to the amount in dispute.
