When sending your drone to Omnisky for repair or maintenance, proper packaging is essential to prevent further damage during transit. Follow this guide to ensure your drone arrives safely and securely at our service cente
01.
Before You Ship
Before packaging your drone, please:
- Remove batteries, propellers, and memory cards where possible.
- Back up your flight data or remove SD cards if they contain sensitive information.
- Record your drone’s serial number for reference.
- If possible, take clear photos or a short video showing the drone’s condition before packaging.
These steps help us verify the condition of your equipment and protect both parties during the assessment process.

Packaging Instructions
Proper packaging minimizes the risk of damage in transit.
Recommended materials:
- Sturdy double-wall cardboard box
- Bubble wrap or soft foam padding
- Packing tape (reinforced type preferred)
- “Fragile / Handle with Care” label
How to pack:
- Wrap each component (drone, controller, charger, batteries) individually in bubble wrap.
- Place the wrapped drone in the center of the box.
- Surround it with at least 5 cm of padding on all sides.
- Make sure nothing moves when the box is gently shaken.
- Seal all edges with strong tape.
- Label the box clearly:
- Attention: OmniSky Repairs Department
- Include your name, contact number, and job reference (if already issued).

Courier Guidelines
Omnisky accepts deliveries from all major couriers across South Africa.
Preferred options:
- The Courier Guy
- Fastway
- Aramex
- Dawn Wing
- PostNet (for smaller drones only)

Important:
- Always insure your shipment for the drone’s estimated replacement value.
- Keep your tracking number for reference.
- Notify us via email or WhatsApp once your parcel has been shipped.
04.
Receiving & Acknowledgement
Once your drone arrives at Omnisky:
- You’ll receive a confirmation message within 24 hours.
- Our technicians will conduct an initial visual inspection and log your equipment into the system.
- A diagnostic report and repair quote will follow within 1–2 business days.
05.
Returning Your Drone
After repairs and post-flight testing, OmniSky will carefully repackage your drone using protective materials and ship it back via insured courier.
You’ll receive:
- Final test report
- Tracking details for delivery
- Repair warranty information

Important Notes
- Omnisky is not responsible for damage caused by poor packaging or inadequate courier insurance.
- Do not ship batteries showing signs of swelling or leakage.
- If your drone is water-damaged, do not power it on before shipping this increases internal corrosion.
